It Has Been 7 Years!

Saturday was our 7th anniversary. I can't believe how fast time has flown! We celebrated by spending the weekend downtown. We went back to the hotel where we spent our honeymoon. It was amazing! I had forgotten how beautiful and luxurious it was.
 The bedroom and sitting area
this small room had a vanity and closet
 the bathroom.
The view from our room looked out on the courtyard.

For dinner we went to the Roof. It is at the top of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building and has the most breathtaking view of temple square.

After dinner we walked around City Creek for a bit. We went to Deseret Book and got a couple of books we had been wanting to add to our collection;) I love the fountains that are there.

In the morning we had breakfast at the Garden Cafe in our hotel. After eating breakfast we decided to go and walk around temple square. We walked over to the conference center and decided to take a tour.  If you haven't taken a tour of the Conference Center you need to add it to your list of things to do. This building is so amazing and it was so much fun to learn more about it. As we were walking through the auditorium there was a man who was practicing for a organ recital. It was so powerful and I was in awe at this large empty room and the beautiful music. As we walked through we got to see the many works of art that are housed in this enormous building. Many of the pictures I have seen my entire life but I have never see the original works themselves. I am an art lover and love to get up close to painting and see the movement of the brushstrokes and texture of the paintings. At the end of the tour we got to go on top and walk around the gardens on the roof. It was the first time that I have ever done this and it was so COOL! I hope to go back and take this tour again, that is how much I enjoyed it.

We had a wonderful anniversary and what made it even better was that we got to spend time together. It was so realizing and we had the best time just walking around and talking. Mike is my best friend and I am so lucky to have such a wonderful man to spend eternity with. He loves me and takes such good care of me. I couldn't have picked a better person to spend eternity with.
